Top Knot Outfitters is a family operated business. Our main handlers/trainers are a husband and wife team that are native Arizonians. Ed Rucker has been hunting the Southwestern United States for more than 30 years. Ed began his journey with handling bird dogs more than 10 years ago with a Lab named Dusty. He then purchased  his first German Shorthaired Pointer named Pepper that he titled Master Hunter by age 4. Ed and Pepper also won many events with the Arizona Pointing Dog Club. In 2009 Ed was voted Vice President of the Arizona Pointing Dog Club president and then in 2010 he was voted President. While Ed was serving as an officer in multiple Dog clubs he saw the need for more diverse trainer for bird dogs. He mentored with several different professional trainers, field trialers and hunters. All of these past experiences has lead to want to create a fundamentally sound training program. Chrissy Rucker has been hunting since she was old enough to hold a bbgun in Southwest Arizona. She was raised with 2 German Shorthaired Pointers that loved to escape and hunt alone. It was at an early age that she discovered the desire to train dogs.  Chrissy purchased her first German Shorthaired Pointer named Low-gun and that is where her journey of training bird dogs began. She mentored with a professional trainer for 2 years and participated in field trial events.  Ed and Chrissy met while Pepper and Low-gun were being trained by the same professional trainer 8 years ago. Since then they have married and joined knowledge and experiences to create an exceptional Training Program. 
Our mission at Top Knot Outfitters, is to provide the highest quality gun dog training program, most versatile bred German Shorthaired Pointers, and an incredible hunting experience on our guided hunts.
